“Oh! JOI” Launch Announcement
We are excited to announce the debut of the new “Oh! JOI” line of jewelry, the proceeds from which will help support the creation of children’s wellness centres in Joilinn’s name. We are also introducing the Wadeng line of jewelry from Africa, the proceeds from which support children’s education and welfare in southern Sudan.
The Oh! JOI Line
The Oh! JOI line is made to remember Joilinn Edgar, who was lost to us in a tragic automobile accident, and to carry on her legacy of helping children.
It is made in the cherished spirit and express belief that nothing happens without purpose or meaning.
These unique pieces, with their modern style and assorted colours, are designed and made in Halifax, Nova Scotia, using classic pearls and glass beads, and are adorned with hearts and angels. Each piece is assembled by women in distress who are reclaiming their lives after personal crises.
Proceeds from the sale of this jewelry will support the creation and establishment of The JOI Centres, which will be wellness centres for children and youth in distress.
The Wadeng Line
“Wadeng” is a Dinka word meaning “look to the future; it will be better. Follow your dreams.” The sale of Wadengs raises money to buy goats for villages in south Sudan. The purchase of this jewelry has already gone to help this cause. The Wadeng is represented by the Wadeng Wings of Hope organization, which is a Canadian registered charitable society, dedicated to raising funds for children’s education in Southern Sudan.
